The Challenge
From Disjointed to Intentional:
How a Thoughtful Redesign Turned an Outdated Website into a Warm, Patient-Friendly Experience
Rochelle S. Hardy, M.D. is a family medical practice that provides high-quality, multigenerational care with a focus on disease prevention and lifestyle modification.
Dr. Hardy’s previous website did not reflect the warmth or professionalism of her medical practice. The design was outdated, navigation was unclear, and key patient resources were buried or difficult to use—especially for her primary audience of older adults.
The site also lacked strong branding; there was no consistent color scheme, no logo, and little attention to visual hierarchy.
Overall, the experience felt mundane and disjointed, with no cohesive look or feel. It gave the impression of a site that hadn’t been designed with intention—failing to reflect the trust and care at the heart of her practice.

The Goal
Rebuilding with the Patient in Mind
The primary goal was to design a website that reflected Dr. Hardy’s warm, patient-focused approach to family medicine—while ensuring ease of use for all ages, especially baby boomers. This meant simplifying the navigation, creating a clear and welcoming layout, and guiding users effortlessly through essential actions like accessing forms.
Additional goals included developing a professional brand identity through a new logo, ensuring consistent visual styling across the site, and establishing reliable hosting and maintenance. Every element needed to support clarity, trust, and approachability.
The Design
Design That Puts People First
Every design decision centered around accessibility, warmth, and ease of use—especially for older patients. The site features a clean, clutter-free layout with intuitive navigation across key pages: Home, About Dr., Team, Family Medicine, Forms, and Contact. A soft, calming color palette paired with professional, diverse imagery (featuring multigenerational families) helped reinforce trust and inclusivity.
Special attention was given to the Forms page, where we implemented a clear 1-2-3 step process to make it easy for patients to complete and submit information. The typography is legible and consistent, the visual hierarchy is clean, and the logo gives the brand a fresh, unified identity. Altogether, the design reflects Dr. Hardy’s values—professional, welcoming, and straightforward.
